Amber, my first pug, was more than just a pet — she was my muse, my sidekick, and a constant presence as I tinkered with early product ideas on my living room floor. One day, she wandered a little too close to a freshly painted sign and ended up with streaks of paint on her fur. That accidental moment gave me the name The Painted Pug — and a story I’d carry with me forever.

For years, this business was a side hustle I ran in the evenings and on weekends. But on the very same day Amber passed away at 16 years old, something incredible happened — one of my handmade items went viral. It was a bittersweet, full-circle moment that felt like a quiet sign from Amber to keep going and dream bigger.

Since then, I’ve grown The Painted Pug into a small but mighty handmade brand, known for playful earrings, personalized gifts, and colorful accessories that spark joy. Every piece is made with care right here in the USA — and always with a sense of fun and heart. These days, I’m joined in the studio by my two pugs, Jax and Gracie, who make sure there’s never a dull moment.
